HealthSCOPE Benefits Receives Full Accreditation in Claims Processing Administration

AccreditationsThe URAC accreditation process demonstrates a commitment to quality services and serves as a framework to improve business processes through benchmarking organizations against nationally recognized standards.

URAC’s Claims Processing Administration Accreditation is designed to improve operations, protect consumers and providers, and lower risk and cost for health care organizations. It is offered only by URAC. The accreditation standards meet many of the requirements of the recently issued US Department of Labor claims regulations, and, like all URAC standards, are designed to be consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements.

HealthSCOPE Benefits Demonstrates Commitment to Meeting High Standards In Processing & Compliance

AccreditationsOur independent service auditor, Stone Carlie & Company, L.L.C. (Stone Carlie), has examined our controls related to our third-party administration services system for the period December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2013 and the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of controls to achieve the related control objectives stated in the description, throughout the same period. Officially, this report is called a Type 2 Service Organization Control (SOC) 1 report.

The Type 2 SOC 1 report offers an independent assessment of whether a service organization’s system of controls was placed in operation, suitably designed, and operating effectively. It provides your auditors with more detailed information about our operations and underlying internal controls and, as a result, it should help reduce your auditors’ substantive procedures and may reduce the cost associated with the audit. The report coordinates with the user organization’s controls to help ensure the third-party administration services operate correctly and efficiently.

The Type 2 SOC 1 report has been prepared in accordance with standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and included those procedures Stone Carlie considered necessary in the circumstances to obtain a reasonable basis for rendering their opinion.

We received an unqualified or “clean” opinion on our third-party administration services system. What this means to you is we continue to consistently demonstrate our commitment to meeting the highest standards in our processing and compliance efforts.
